Welcome to the Upper Mount Bethel Preserve Master Plan Webpage!

The purpose of the Upper Mount Bethel Preserve Master Plan is to determine a program, site plan, and potential improvements for the Preserve that will facilitate the passive recreational use of the site while enhancing habitats as the site recovers from the quarrying operations.

Portland to Minsi Lake Trail Feasibility Study

Draft Report

Upper Mount Bethel Township invites you to review the draft report for the Portland to Minsi Lake Trail Feasibility Study.

The trail would connect Portland Borough to Minsi Lake. This trail is the first section of the Northern Tier Trail to be planned, a trail system that will traverse the 14 northern-most municipalities of Northampton County from the Delaware River in Portland to the Lehigh River in Walnutport.

The draft plan was presented to the public on April 23, 2024 at the Upper Mount Bethel Township building. The draft report will be open for public comment for a 45-day review period.
